List your debts once, choose Snowball, Avalanche or your own order, and see your estimated debt-free date, the interest you'll pay and how much sooner you finish than with minimum payments alone. Log each payment and the dashboard shows what's left and whether you're ahead of or behind your plan.

What you get

Everything inside Debt Payoff Tracker

Debts

Room for 20 debts: name, type, balance, interest rate (APR), minimum payment, due day and an optional order number. Payoff order, payoff month, months to pay off and interest fill in for every debt, and a Check column flags anything that needs a look.

Three ways to pay off

Snowball (smallest balance first), Avalanche (highest interest rate first) or Custom order, where you choose.

Settings

Your extra payment every month, the plan start date, up to 12 one-time extra payments (a tax refund, a bonus, a gift) and an editable list of debt types.

Payoff plan

A month-by-month schedule of up to 30 years with the balance of every debt. When a debt is paid off, its payment rolls onto the next one.

Strategy comparison

Minimum payments only, Snowball, Avalanche and your plan side by side: debt-free date, months, total interest, interest and months saved and the payoff month of every debt.

Dashboard

Debt left today, debt reduced so far, your plan's debt-free date, months to go, interest saved, debts paid off, your focus debt and whether you're ahead or behind plan, with three charts.

Payment log

600 rows: add the date, the debt and the amount. The balance after each payment is worked out for you, and you can type the balance from your statement any time to keep it exact.

Progress

For every debt: what you paid, the balance today (an estimate), a progress bar, the last payment, the next due date and a status: Ahead of plan, On plan, Behind plan or Paid off.

How it works

Four steps from payment to done

1

Pay, download the two files and open them in Microsoft Excel, or upload them to Google Sheets.

2

On the Settings sheet, pick your strategy, type the extra amount you can pay every month and the date your balances are from.

3

List each debt on the Debts sheet. The plan, the comparison and the dashboard fill in.

4

Each time you pay, add a row to the Payment Log.

Good to know

Before you buy

We want you to know exactly what this workbook is and isn't.

  • White cells are for you to type in. Grey cells calculate automatically.
  • This is a large workbook (a 30-year plan for up to 20 debts). In Google Sheets it can take a few seconds to recalculate after you change a number. Three hidden helper sheets do the plan math, so please leave them as they are.
  • How the plan works: each month, interest is balance times APR divided by 12. Every debt gets its minimum payment, and everything that's left (your extra payment, one-time extras and the payments of debts already paid off) goes to the first debt in your payoff order.
  • The debt-free date belongs to your plan, so it stays the same as you log payments. The ahead or behind figures show how you're doing against that plan.
  • The plan assumes your rates and minimum payments stay the same and that you add no new charges. Your lender's own numbers can differ a little, so treat every date and amount as an estimate.
  • You type in your own numbers. Nothing connects to your bank, and the workbook does not send reminders.
  • A planning and record-keeping tool. It is not financial, tax or legal advice, and it does not promise any financial results.
  • This is a digital download. Nothing will be shipped.
  • Digital product: all sales are final. If anything doesn't work, email hello@inksets.us and we'll help.
Questions

Common questions

What's the difference between Snowball and Avalanche?

Snowball pays the smallest balance first. Avalanche pays the highest interest rate first. The Strategy Comparison sheet shows both, and the minimum-only plan, side by side for your own debts.

Does it work with a mortgage?

Yes, a mortgage can be one of your debts. Plans run up to 30 years. If your payments don't clear every debt in that time, the workbook tells you.

Does the debt-free date change when I log a payment?

No. The date and months to go belong to your plan. Logging payments updates your balances and shows whether you're ahead of or behind that plan.

Which programs does it work in?

Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. The workbooks have no macros, no add-ins and no links to other files.

What do I get after I pay?

Two .xlsx files: a copy with sample data, so you can see how it works, and a blank copy to start with. You land on a download page right after payment, and we email you a link that works for 90 days.

Do I need an account?

No. You pay with Stripe Checkout, and the download page and the emailed link are all you need. We keep your email address and your order so the link keeps working.

How do I open it in Google Sheets?

Upload the .xlsx file to Google Sheets, then choose File > Save as Google Sheets. That gives you your own copy to edit there.

Can I get a refund?

It's a digital product with instant access, so all sales are final. If a file won't open or something doesn't work as described, email hello@inksets.us and we'll help. See our refund policy.

Can I share the files or use them for clients?

The files are for your own use. Please don't resell, share or redistribute them. See our terms.

I lost my download link.

Enter your email on the download page and we'll send the link again.
